For anyone interested in a publishing career, experience is a must. Avalon Travel and Seal Press, located in Berkeley, California, have strong reputations for providing interns with the skills they need to build a career in the competitive field of book publishing. We seek interns who are both hardworking and fun, who welcome the opportunity to take on more significant responsibilities than those typically offered in internship programs.

Avalon Travel publishes the Moon and Rick Steves travel guide series, both market leaders in the industry.

Inspired by the simple but radical notion that a book can change a woman’s life, Seal Press is devoted to publishing books that inform, reveal, engage, delight and support women of all ages and backgrounds.

Each internship provides not only a working knowledge of one specific department, but also an overview of a publishing house as a whole.
